Energy Consultant (f/m/d)


As an Energy Consultant you will be responsible to assess the installation of HVAC and Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing networks to improve the building’s functionality. As a key contributor to any real estate project, you will provide advice to contribute to a high-performing system.

Your tasks

  • Conducting Technical Due Diligence and building surveys of existing buildings with site inspections to assess the condition of the MEP system, estimate remaining equipment lifetime, and necessary replacement/repair costs
  • Developing energy and sustainability concepts for new or existing buildings. Building analytical models of energy consumption and analysis of metering data
  • Proposal of improvement measures and full assessment based on different criteria (e.g., feasibility, timeline, cost, energy/carbon savings, etc.)
  • Supporting the Technical Monitoring / Quality Assurance of Projects with Design Reviews and Construction Inspections
  • Working closely with clients, including architects, developers, investors, building owners, occupiers, and operators. Understanding their needs and working with Senior Engineers and Team Leads to provide ambitious and effective services
  • Consulting with clients and stakeholders throughout project stages and identifying opportunities for new projects

Your profile

  • Qualified to a degree level of mechanical or building services engineering or equivalent
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience in HVAC/MEP design and/or consulting in Building Services Engineering
  • Interdisciplinary knowledge within MEP, focusing on Mechanical/energy-related disciplines and a good understanding of Electrical and Plumbing
  • Experience with site visits and site investigations is a must
  • Experience in calculating operational carbon and energy modeling is a plus, and understanding how these and other metrics impact different projects
  • Ability to understand complex issues and apply networked thinking
  • Comfortable working with relevant software and modeling packages, including AutoCAD, IES VE, and experience in energy modelling would be advantageous but is not essential
  • Ability to speak and write English and French or Dutch with clients and third parties.
  • Willingness to travel and flexibility to work on international projects
